Autumn illness, Grief and the Lungs
Plus How to Nourish the Lungs and exciting workshop announcement
From a Chinese Medicine point of view, Autumn comes under the Metal element; and the emotion associated with both Autumn and Metal is Grief.
We are going through a huge amount of Grief - individually and collectively. For me personally, in the past two years I lost my sister, my mother, my dear friend Peta, our beloved 17 year old dog Maddison, and another form Grief that I did not immediately understand as Grief (more on this in a future workshop).
Despite all this loss I am far from alone - Grief sweeps the planet and many souls are leaving at this time. Healthy beautiful souls dying suddenly, those taking their own lives and those whose innocent lives are lost in conflict.
Grief sucks! Yet there is something transformational about it. As covered in my Medicine Women Mentorship, when we allow ourselves the full expression of Grief and are well supported, only then can we become alchemists in our lives; turning our wounds into wisdom. When we are not able to process Grief, unable to let go, then we fail to remain inspired by life and fail to mature.
I will be holding a workshop on this subject with a collective Card Pull. The workshop will be free to my paying subscribers, keep an eye out for date release.
I will never forget the night my father died, yet I have probably only spoken of it a few times. My sister and I went to a party, my mother seemed relieved that we were going. We skipped off pleased to escape something. We weren’t sure what we were escaping, nor did we vocalize it. It just felt good to be out of the heavy atmosphere and away from seeing my wonderful father sat in a chair, a shadow of his former self.
At the party, people asked me how my dad was. “On the mend” I replied, because I genuinely thought that was the case. He was, after all, at home so that must be a good sign.
